You should really only use the OEM batteries provided by the manufacturer to ensure your scooter operates in the most optimal conditions. Pride offers batteries in both the 12 and 18 ah (extended) which work best for the Go-Go Elite Traveller. You can find them both on our website for sale at the lowest prices.
If you try to get batteries that have a better capacity rating, you need to make sure they are the same chemistry type (dry cell – sealed lead acid 12 volt) otherwise you will fry the machine.
Hello Scooterjam,
Sorry to hear about your issues with your Gogo Sport. It’s not uncommon for customers to ask us questions such as:
“Why does my mobility scooter keep stopping”
“Why does my mobility scooter keep losing power”
“why does my mobility scooter suddenly stop”
“why does my mobility scooter keep turning off”
“why does my mobility scooter turn off and on”There are many reasons why a scooter will randomly lose power, but most of the time it’s the batteries. In rare cases, it can also be the motor, but when it’s the motor it usually has a few indicators that you can look out for. For example, if the motor is going bad, it will not just stop abruptly, it will usually start to slow down or even make some noise before turning off.
In other rare circumstances, it could be a loss of signal due to a wire getting cut or disconnected somewhere between the controller and the motor.
At the end of the day, it would be best if you had a highly trained and experienced mobility scooter that has worked with Go-Go’s to take a look at it. There are many techs out there that can pinpoint exactly what’s wrong with a gogo quickly, they are not complex machines.
Have you read the troubleshooting guide in the user manual for your Gogo? If not, here is the link:

Please let us know if you have any more questions about your Gogo sport scooter.
in reply to: Why Does My Mobility Scooter Stop SuddenlyYes this is very common, you must keep trying. There’s nothing that can stop it from working, its just not as easy as the pride feather touch assembly that is offered in Pride Scooters.
Do you know what model it is? I would recommend going to page 32 on this user manual link:

in reply to: drive mobility scooterThe specifications for each type of wheelchair vary, there is no “standard” measurement for all wheelchairs. You’re going to need to account for many different measurements with various mounts.
in reply to: Wheel base of smallest chairYes – the controllers are pre-programmed. Something is wrong with the configuration, there is no other explanation. If you’ve worked on golf carts, then a multimeter will show you exactly where the issue is. These are not complex machines.

in reply to: Pride Maxima only operates in slow mode, need help.It could be something caught up in the wheelbase or brake system. You may need a little cleaning or maintenance. It’s almost impossible to tell without looking at it in person.
in reply to: Gogo lx cts squeaksIt sounds like you wired the motor to the controller wrong. To test this, try going in reverse and it should be going in reverse really fast (as fast as it should while going forward). Usually, the scooter going backward at 1/3 the forward speed capability. I’m willing to bet yours does the opposite.
in reply to: Pride Maxima only operates in slow mode, need help.Hello Gilly,
I’d recommend reading the user manual and checking the beep codes section. You can also visit our forum topic that deals with beep codes as well. I’ve included links to both below for your convenience:

in reply to: MAXIMO FLASHES 7Hello Boonie,
Have you tried reading the user manual? There is usually a section that goes over the flashes and what they mean. I’ve attached the link to the user manual below for yoru convenience.

in reply to: Rascal 600FHello Megsyjenks,
The batteries need to be charged when the battery meter reads yellow or red. Some battery indicators show bars instead of colors, just be sure to charge when the battery is getting low. If you let the battery drain down to 0% battery, its almost guaranteed that they won’t work right soon after. Even if they charge up all the way, once a battery gets drained to 0% they’re pretty much done for. I always recommend charging when the battery reaches 15% to 20% capacity. If you go any lower than that, you’re basically causing stress to the battery. To learn more about how to get the most out of your battery, I recommend reading our mobility scooter battery tips blog which I’ve linked below.

in reply to: Charging spare batteryGood morning James,
Do you happen to have a picture of the location of the piece that you’re referring to? The newer Victory 10’s don’t have a silver handle piece near the base… Maybe it’s the clip that holds the front and rear together? If so, you definitely will need a technician to replace that. Can you confirm that the scooter you have is the same one as the one linked below?

Most likely it’s the trans-axel that is damaged. You may have debris in the trans-axel. You are going to need a technician.
