My scooter is making a popping noise about every 3 feet from underneath, in the rear. Anyone know how I can tell for sure it’s the transaxle before I cough up 800 bucks to fix it?
The only real way is to hire a local technician to inspect the transaxle for damage. Otherwise, it would be nearly impossible to tell without knowing more or seeing a video of some sort.

I appreciate the response. I drove my scooter holding my phone next to the transaxle for a technician. He said it was definitely bad, wanted about 800 bucks to put one in. Since that isn’t far from the cost of a new Scooter, I passed. Found a used one on Ebay, going to try it.
No problem. Keep in mind that now you can buy a new scooter starting at $699. If you are looking for a second-hand mobility scooter you could always try searching https://www.buysellwheelchairs.com too – its like ebay but only deals with mobility products.
